![]() ![]() I also have access to the obitalk account. I am not sure how my Gmail account became associated with someone else's Credit Karma account online. Since I don't know what else this person associated my email account with and since Credit Karma wouldn't reassign that Gmail address to my account even though I can send/receive messages from it, I have decided to change my Gmail address. I do know how to transfer a Google Voice number to a different Gmail account. I just don't know what I need to do to get the obi200 to work with the new Gmail account once the Google Voice number is moved there. I assume that I would have to unassociate the obi200 with the old Gmail account and remove the obi200 as a device from Google Voice first and then reassociate them after I moved the Google Voice number to the new Gmail account. I am not sure of the order that these things need to be done or the procedure to do them, however.Īdditional information: When I log into obitalk, there is an option to edit profile, which allows users to change the login email address. There is also an option on the device configuration screen to replace Google Account credentials. Right now, if someone calls my home phone (the Google Voice number), it rings on a cordless phone by my router. It also rings on my cell phone, which is typically more convenient for me to answer. That is the part that I am worried about messing up, since I don't know how that part is set up. Ringing your cellphone with the GV app or by GV forwarding to the native cell number has noting to do with the Obi. That is just a setting in the GV app or account. You might have to reconfig if you change the GV number/Gmail address. I have no idea what is required to change the Obi for a new GV number/Gmail address. Worst case would be that you have to configure the Obi from scratch.Īs far as GV working on the Obi long term: Polycom does not seem to be interested in continuing the Obi products or keeping up with GV changes. However, the Obi is a fully functional SIP gateway that you can use with other providers, like Callcentric, but they are not free. When Obi/GV has the last outage after some change that GV made I started using my smartphone with GV Wifi calling and a Bluetooth headset. ![]()
